Harvest of the Month
Minnesota Harvest of the Month (MN HOTM) celebrates an in-season, locally-grown food item each month. We have versions designed for both early care and K-12 settings. Harvest of the Month is a free marketing program designed to promote the use of seasonally available, locally grown, raised, and harvested products.
The program is free and publicly available for school and early care settings.
Who?
These resources are FREE and publicly available to anyone who finds them useful, with a goal of connecting young people to local foods through the cafeteria, classroom, and community.
Why?
Farm to Kids efforts have all sorts of great benefits, and we hope these easy-to-use resources can help people start talking about and trying local foods with kids. It’s a great opportunity to:
Celebrate local, seasonal foods.
Encourage students to try new foods.
Increase student consumption of fruits and vegetables.
Educate students about nutrition, agriculture and the food system.
Support local farmers and our MN economy.

Other State Resources
Many states have Harvest of the Month resources, and several have specific Early Care resources as well. If you don’t see yours here, we’d love to add it! Email hello@farmtoearlycaremn.org.
