The Alliance
The Minnesota Farm to Kids Alliance aims to unite the efforts of people supporting Farm to School and Early Care to nourish children’s bodies and minds, cultivate viable farms, and build vibrant communities in our state.
Our Mission
We increase access to healthy, locally grown foods in schools and early care while creating meaningful food and agriculture learning experiences for kids.
Our Vision
Minnesota Farm to Kids envisions a future where:
Everyone has access to nutritious, local food
School and community gardens create spaces to grow food and build connections
Teachers and early care providers feel confident bringing food, agriculture, and hands on learning into everyday experiences
About Us
Farm to Kids connects children with local, healthy foods through school meals, gardens, and hands-on learning, helping them understand where food comes from and build lifelong healthy habits.
The Minnesota Farm to Kids Alliance brings together the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, Minnesota Department of Education, Minnesota Department of Health, and nonprofit partners. Together, they support schools, early care programs, farmers, and communities to expand access to local food and food education across Minnesota.
